Cheap Website Design in Ahmedabad: What ₹10,000 Actually Buys
A ₹10,000 website can be a smart buy or an expensive mistake, and the price alone will not tell you which. This guide shows where the money goes, what budget builds usually leave out, and how to get a cheap site that still works in year three.
Cheap is a budget, not a quality level
Most people who search for cheap website design in Ahmedabad are not looking for a bad website. They are a new shop, a home tiffin service, a tuition class or a two person travel desk with a fixed amount of money, usually somewhere around ₹10,000, and they want to know whether that amount is enough to get something that actually brings customers in.
The honest answer is yes, it is enough for a lot of businesses. It is also the price range where the most money gets wasted, because a budget quote and a careless quote look identical on WhatsApp. Both say a number, both promise mobile friendly, both say five pages. The difference only shows up three or six months later.
This post is not a full price guide. If you want every price band in the city from ₹5,000 to ₹2,00,000, read our breakdown of how much a website costs in Ahmedabad. This one stays at the bottom of the market and answers one question: what does ₹10,000 really buy, and how do you make sure it buys the right thing.
Where ₹10,000 goes on an honest budget build
A budget site is cheap because the expensive parts are done once and reused, not because someone is cutting corners. A designer who builds many sites in the same structure can sell each one for less. Here is roughly how a ₹10,000 build splits when it is done properly.
- Notice what is missing: custom illustration, a booking engine, a payment gateway and written content from scratch. Those are the items that push a quote past the budget range.
- If a quote at this price claims to include all of them, either the scope is vague or something on the list will not really be delivered.
| Work | Share of the budget | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Layout and branding | About a third | Picking a proven layout, applying your logo, colours and fonts, making sure it looks like your business and not a template demo. |
| Content setup | About a quarter | Placing your text, photos, services, timings, map and contact details on every page, and fixing the copy so it reads well. |
| Mobile and speed testing | About a fifth | Checking every page on a real phone, on mobile data, and making images light enough that the page opens in a couple of seconds. |
| Launch and handover | The rest | Domain connection, SSL, Google Search Console, a sitemap, and showing you how to request changes. |
What a good cheap website should still include
Some things cost very little to do and a great deal to skip. A budget site that leaves these out is not cheap, it is unfinished. Use this as a checklist when you read any quote under ₹15,000.
- A domain registered in your own name, with the login handed to you on day one.
- SSL, so the browser shows the padlock and not a Not Secure warning.
- A WhatsApp button and a tap to call button that work on every page, not just the contact page.
- An enquiry form that reaches you within seconds, ideally straight on WhatsApp, and that you have tested yourself.
- Your real Google Maps location embedded, matching the address on your Google Business Profile.
- A page title and description on every page, written for what customers actually search.
- Pages that open fast on a normal phone on 4G, which mostly means compressed images.
- A clear answer, in writing, on what happens to hosting after the first year and what it costs.
What cheap builds usually skip
When we are asked to fix a low cost site somebody else built, the problems are almost always the same handful. None of them are visible on launch day, which is why they slip through.
The first is mobile. The site was checked on the designer's laptop and never on a phone, so buttons overlap, text runs off the screen and the menu does not open. In Ahmedabad most of your visitors arrive from Instagram or Google on a phone, so this one problem can cancel out the whole site.
The second is speed. Photos straight from a phone camera are uploaded at full size, and every page takes eight or ten seconds to appear. People leave long before that.
The third is ownership. The domain sits in the designer's account, the hosting is on their reseller panel, and nobody wrote down a login. When the designer stops replying, you cannot even change your own phone number on your own website.
The fourth is search. No page titles, no sitemap, no Search Console. The site exists but Google has no reason to show it to anyone. We cover the basics that matter in our post on the mistakes we see on almost every Indian travel site, and most of that list applies to any small business.
The fifth is follow through. The site goes live, the final payment is collected, and the first change request three weeks later gets no reply.
The real cost of cheap over three years
The fairest way to judge a cheap website is not the launch price, it is what you have spent by year three. A site that has to be rebuilt after a year costs more than a slightly dearer one that keeps working. Here is a simple comparison using typical numbers from the Ahmedabad market.
- The careless build is not always the one with the lowest price. A ₹15,000 site with no mobile testing and the domain in the designer's name is still a careless build.
- The cheapest site over three years is the one you only pay for once.
| Careless ₹6,000 build | Honest ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 build | |
|---|---|---|
| Launch price | ₹6,000 | ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 |
| Year 1 fixes | Often ₹2,000 to ₹5,000 for mobile and speed repairs | Usually included |
| Hosting and domain, years 2 and 3 | Varies, sometimes held hostage at renewal | Stated in writing upfront |
| Rebuild needed | Common within 12 to 18 months | Rare inside three years |
| Enquiries lost meanwhile | Hard to measure, usually the biggest cost | Form tested before launch |
How to tell good cheap from bad cheap before you pay
You do not need to understand code to protect yourself. Five checks, all of which take a few minutes, will filter out most bad quotes.
- Ask for three live links to sites they built, then open them on your own phone on mobile data. Screenshots prove nothing.
- Ask whose name the domain will be registered in. The only correct answer is yours.
- Ask what the hosting will cost in year two, and get the number in writing.
- Ask how long a small change takes after launch, like a new phone number or a new photo, and what it costs.
- Ask to see something before paying in full. A staged payment, or better a free demo on your own brand, protects both sides.
What AlphaX builds at this budget
We work at the low end of the market on purpose, and we publish the prices so you do not have to ask. A reskin of one of our ready made templates with your brand, photos and contact details is ₹6,000. The Basic plan at ₹8,000 is a designed site of up to five pages with WhatsApp, call and Instagram buttons, an enquiry form that goes straight to WhatsApp, Google Maps and SSL, delivered in about seven business days.
If you want to change prices, photos or packages yourself without calling anyone, the Premium plan at ₹12,000 adds an admin panel, YouTube videos and PDFs, an enquiries dashboard and basic SEO setup. Professional at ₹16,000 adds online payments into your bank, reviews and Google Business and Analytics setup. Every plan includes the first year of hosting, domain and maintenance free, then ₹4,000 a year. The full comparison is on our pricing page.
So a ₹10,000 budget sits comfortably between Basic and Premium. For most shops, clinics and service businesses, Basic is enough and the remaining money is better spent on photos or a few weeks of Instagram ads. For a travel agency that changes packages every season, Premium is the better use of the budget. Our guide to website design for travel agents in Ahmedabad explains why the admin panel matters so much in that business.
Before you pay us anything, we build a working demo on your own brand. You open it on your phone, and if it is not right, you have spent nothing. You can see live sites we have built in the portfolio, or read more about our website design service in Ahmedabad.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the cheapest decent website I can get in Ahmedabad?
- Around ₹6,000 to ₹8,000 buys a decent site if it is built on a proven layout, tested on a phone and handed over with the domain in your name. With AlphaX, a template reskin is ₹6,000 and the Basic five page plan is ₹8,000, both with the first year of hosting, domain and maintenance free.
- Is a ₹10,000 website good enough for Google?
- It can be. Ranking depends far more on page titles, speed, mobile layout, a sitemap and useful content than on what the site cost. A cheap site with those basics done properly will do better in search than an expensive one without them.
- Why do some designers quote ₹3,000 or ₹4,000?
- Usually because the site is a theme with your name typed in, with no mobile testing, no speed work and hosting on the designer's own account. It can be fine as a placeholder, but check who owns the domain and what the renewal will cost before you agree.
- What does a cheap website cost after the first year?
- Mainly the domain and hosting renewal. A domain is roughly ₹800 to ₹1,200 a year if you hold it yourself. With AlphaX, hosting, domain and maintenance together are ₹4,000 a year from the second year, and that number is fixed in writing before you start.
- Can I upgrade a cheap website later?
- Yes, if it was built cleanly and you own the domain. Moving from our Basic plan to Premium or Professional can usually be done on the same site, so you pay the difference in scope rather than starting again.
