Travel Agency Website Design Cost in India: Real Prices for 2027

Ask five vendors what a travel agency website costs and you will get five answers between ₹5,000 and ₹5,00,000. Here is what each band actually buys, what the recurring costs are, and where the money is genuinely worth spending.

Why the quotes you are getting vary so wildly

A travel agency owner asking around for a website usually collects three or four numbers that look like they cannot possibly be describing the same thing. A freelancer on Instagram says ₹8,000. A local studio says ₹45,000. An agency in a bigger city says ₹1,80,000. Somebody selling a booking portal says ₹4,00,000 and a monthly fee on top.

They are not describing the same thing. Website is a word that covers everything from a five page brochure to a system that talks to airline inventory in real time. The price gap is real and mostly honest. The problem is that almost nobody tells you which product they are quoting for, so you end up comparing a bicycle to a bus.

This guide breaks the market into the bands that actually exist in India, says what each one gets you, and gives our own published prices so you have at least one fixed point to measure the others against.

The four price bands for a travel website in India

These are honest market ranges for 2027, based on what travel businesses across India are actually being quoted. They are ranges, not a price list, and where you land inside a band depends on page count and how much of the content you supply yourself.

BandTypical costWhat you getThe risk
Template reskin₹5,000 to ₹15,000An existing design with your logo, colours, photos and packages dropped in. Live in days.It will look like other sites using the same template unless the reskin is done properly.
Small studio build₹15,000 to ₹60,000An original design for your brand, five to ten pages, package or itinerary templates, working enquiry flow, technical SEO set up.Quality varies enormously. Ask to see live sites, not screenshots.
Established agency₹60,000 to ₹2,50,000Custom design, content writing, sometimes photography, a CMS, project management and a longer support window. You pay a lot for process. Worth it at scale, rarely worth it for a single office agency.
Booking portalSeveral lakh and up, plus recurring feesLive flight and hotel inventory through APIs, payment gateway, markup engine, agent panel, back office.Recurring API, gateway and maintenance costs. Only pays back at real transaction volume.

What we charge, published rather than quoted

We publish our numbers because hiding them wastes everybody's time. Here is the full ladder, and it is the same for every client.

A reskin of one of our ready made travel designs costs ₹6,000. Your logo, your colours, your photos, your packages, usually live within three to five days. You can look through the actual designs on the website templates page and pick one before you commit to anything.

An original build starts at ₹20,000 for a four to five page site, ₹35,000 for a seven to eight page site with tour listings and a blog, and ₹60,000 for a custom booking flow with thirty days of post launch support. Every tier is broken down on the services and pricing page. If you want the same numbers explained for a general business rather than a travel one, the guide on what a website costs in Ahmedabad covers the same ladder from a different angle.

The costs that are not in the quote

Every quote you receive is for building the site. These are the costs that arrive afterwards, and a vendor who does not mention them is either careless or hoping you will not ask.

  • Domain name: roughly ₹800 to ₹1,200 a year for a .com or .in. Buy it in your own name. This matters more than it sounds.
  • Hosting: free on a modern platform's starter plan for normal business traffic, or ₹3,000 to ₹15,000 a year on traditional shared hosting. Anybody charging you ₹2,000 a month to host a five page travel site is charging for the lock in, not the server.
  • Content: your package details, day by day itineraries, inclusions and exclusions. If you cannot write these, budget for someone who can. This is the most common reason a paid-for site sits unlaunched for months.
  • Photography: destination photos you actually own. Stock images of Santorini on an Indian agency site fool nobody and rank for nothing.
  • Changes after launch: ask up front whether a price change or a new package is a WhatsApp message or a billable job. The answer tells you a lot about the vendor.
  • Payment gateway, if you take money online: standard Indian gateways charge roughly two percent per transaction plus GST, and there is no way around it.

Where the money is genuinely worth spending

Not every rupee in a website budget does equal work. After building travel sites for agencies, operators and adventure brands, these are the line items that consistently pay for themselves.

A reusable package or itinerary template is the single highest return item. It means adding a new trip takes minutes rather than a redesign, and every trip you add is another page that can be found on Google. An agency with fifteen properly built package pages will out-rank a competitor with one beautiful homepage almost every time.

A WhatsApp enquiry button that carries the package name into the message is the second. In India the enquiry is going to end up on WhatsApp anyway, so the question is only whether it arrives with context or as the word price. Getting that right costs almost nothing and changes how many first replies turn into conversations.

The third is a self service admin panel, and this one depends on you. If you change prices and departure dates through the season, paying once for a panel is cheaper than paying for edits forever. If you refresh packages twice a year, skip it and save the money. We describe how both work on the tour operator website development page.

Where the money is usually wasted

Three things eat travel website budgets in India and give almost nothing back.

The first is a booking portal bought before the business needs one. Live flight and hotel inventory is expensive to build, expensive to run, and only makes sense with real transaction volume and the working capital for API deposits. Most agencies who buy one end up with an unused booking engine bolted to a site that still gets its enquiries by phone. If a vendor is pushing you towards a portal, read travel website design versus travel portal development before signing anything.

The second is a homepage carrying the entire budget while the package pages get five minutes each. Visitors do not arrive at your homepage from Google, they arrive at the page about the trip they searched for. Spend accordingly.

The third is animation for its own sake. A hero video that takes six seconds to load on mobile data costs you the visitors it was meant to impress. Motion should be cheap, fast and used once, not everywhere.

How to tell a ₹20,000 site from a ₹20,000 mistake

Price alone tells you nothing. These checks do, and all of them can be done before you pay a rupee.

  • Ask for live URLs, not screenshots. Open them on your own phone on mobile data and count the seconds until the first screen appears.
  • Ask who owns the domain. The answer must be you, in your name, with your email on the registrar account.
  • Ask what happens when you want a package price changed. If the answer involves a support ticket and a fee, factor that into the cost.
  • Ask whether the site will still be editable if you stop working with them. A site you cannot move is a subscription, not an asset.
  • Ask for one working enquiry flow you can test yourself, end to end, from the tour page to the message landing.
  • Be careful with any quote that includes the words SEO included without saying what that means. Titles, descriptions, a sitemap and structured data at launch is groundwork and should be included. Ranking guarantees are not a real product.

So what should a travel agency actually spend?

If you are a new agency testing whether an online presence brings you anything, spend ₹6,000 on a reskin, put your real packages on it, and see what happens over three months. That is a genuinely low risk way to find out, and it is far better than the free page builder site you were considering instead.

If you have an established book of business and packages you sell every season, spend ₹20,000 to ₹35,000 on an original build with proper package pages. This is where most Indian agencies belong, and it is where the return is clearest.

If you sell to other agents rather than to travellers, the layout changes completely and the money goes to different places. That case is covered on the DMC website design page. If you run fixed departures at volume, the tour operator website checklist lists what your site has to handle before you brief anyone.

And if you are in Ahmedabad, we are on Ashram Road in Navrangpura and you are welcome to come and look at the work in person. Otherwise send a message to +91 7383552512 with your agency name. We will build a working version of the site on your brand and send you the link, and you can decide after you have seen it on your own phone. Nothing is charged before that.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum realistic budget for a travel agency website in India?
About ₹6,000 for a properly reskinned ready made design with your own branding, packages and enquiry flow, plus roughly ₹1,000 a year for the domain. Below that you are into free page builders, which cost nothing up front but usually cannot be found on Google, cannot be moved, and put someone else's branding on your business.
Is a custom design worth the extra money over a template?
It depends on whether design is part of how you sell. A luxury or bespoke travel brand needs to look different from everyone else, and there the custom build earns its cost. An agency competing on destinations, price and service does not, and is better off putting the difference into package pages and photography.
How much should I pay for website maintenance every month?
For a normal travel agency site, nothing compulsory. Hosting on a modern platform is free at business traffic levels, and content changes should be a message rather than a retainer. Pay a monthly fee only if you are buying something specific such as ongoing content, campaign work or active SEO, and make sure the deliverables are written down.
Why do some agencies quote in lakhs for a travel website?
Usually because they are quoting for a booking portal with live inventory, or because you are paying for a large agency's process: account managers, content writers, photographers and a formal project structure. Both are real products. Neither is what a single office travel agency needs to start getting enquiries online.
How long does a travel agency website take to build?
Three to five days for a reskinned template once your logo, photos and package details arrive. Seven to ten working days for a four to five page original build, and twelve to fifteen for a larger site with tour listings and a blog. Waiting for content and photos from your side is almost always the slowest part, so gather those before you start.
