How to choose a website design company in Ahmedabad: a 15 point checklist

Why choosing is harder than it looks

Search for a website design company in Ahmedabad and you will find hundreds of options, from one person working out of a home office in Bopal to large IT firms on SG Highway. Most of them show a nice portfolio and a list of services. Very few tell you what you actually need to know before handing over an advance.

This checklist is for shop owners, travel agents, coaching classes, manufacturers and other small businesses in Ahmedabad who want a website that brings enquiries. Part 1: Check the work, not the portfolio page

A portfolio page is a collection of screenshots the company chose. Live sites are harder to fake. Ask for links to at least three websites they built that are live today, and do these checks yourself.

• 1. Open each live site on your own phone, on mobile data, not office WiFi. Note how long it takes before you can read anything.
• 2. Tap the WhatsApp or call button. Does it open the right number with a sensible message?
• 3. Look at the bottom of the site for the designer credit, then search the business name on Google to confirm it is a real business.
• 4. Check that the site loads with a padlock (HTTPS). A company that ships sites without SSL in 2026 will cut other corners too.
• 5. Ask whether any of those clients will take a two minute call. A company with happy clients usually has one or two who will.

Part 2: Check who will own what

This is where most small businesses in Ahmedabad get hurt. The site is fine for a year, then the designer stops answering, and the owner discovers the domain was registered in the designer's name. Ask these before you pay anything.

• 6. Will the domain be registered in my name, with my email, and will I get the login?
• 7. Where will the site be hosted, and will I get access or at least a written export of the site on request?
• 8. If I leave after a year, what exactly do I take with me: the domain, the content, the code?
• 9. Who has the admin login for editing content, and is it included or extra?

Part 3: Make the quotes comparable

Quotes in Ahmedabad for what sounds like the same site can range from ₹5,000 to over ₹1 lakh. Usually the companies are quoting different things. Send each one the same brief, then ask each quote to state the following in writing.

• 10. Number of pages and which pages they are.
• 11. Features included: WhatsApp button, enquiry form, Google Maps, admin panel, payment gateway, blog.
• 12. Timeline in working days, and what they need from you to hit it.
• 13. The yearly renewal cost from the second year for domain, hosting and maintenance.

Part 4: Check how they work after launch

A website is never finished on launch day. Prices change, staff change, festivals come and go. How the company handles the boring months matters as much as the design.

• 14. How quickly do they make a small text or price change, and is it included in the yearly fee?
• 15. Will you see a working version of your own site before paying the full amount?

What a website costs from a design company in Ahmedabad

Prices in Ahmedabad fall into rough bands. Freelancers using a theme often charge ₹5,000 to ₹15,000. Small studios charge ₹8,000 to ₹40,000 depending on features. What is included in those prices

Every plan includes the first year of hosting, domain and maintenance free, with the domain in your name. From the second year it is ₹4,000 a year for all three. The pricing page lists every feature by plan.

When you compare us with another company, compare the second year too. A quote that looks ₹3,000 cheaper can cost more over three years if hosting renews at a high rate or every edit is billed separately.

Red flags to walk away from

Some warning signs are worth acting on even if the price is attractive.

• Full payment demanded before any design is shown.
• No live client sites, only mockups and screenshots.
• Refusal to put the domain in your name.
• A quote with no page list, no feature list and no renewal cost.
• Promises of a first page Google ranking in a fixed number of days. Nobody can promise that honestly.
• Reviews that all appeared in the same week, with no detail about the actual project.

Local or remote: does the company need to be in Ahmedabad?

You can work with a company anywhere, but a local studio has practical advantages for a small business. You can visit the office, sit next to the designer for an hour to finalise content, and talk in Gujarati or Hindi if that is easier. They also understand local search behaviour, such as people in Ahmedabad searching in Gujarati or with area names like Navrangpura, Satellite or Maninagar.
